Please read carefully as these eligibility criteria are subject to change and may be updated based on current regulations and requirements.
As of November 16, 2023 applicants will not need a medical cannabis card to qualify for assistance.
At the Cannabis Assistance Foundation, we strive to prioritize the needs of our applicants.
To be considered for assistance, applicants must complete the application form in full.
We make every effort to process completed applications in a timely manner, reviewing applications in the order in which they are received.
Please note that the processing times may vary, but we generally aim to complete the review within 4 to 6 weeks.
Funding will be issued in the form of vouchers or goods and availability is based on the applicant's condition and its current stage.
Funding will be made directly to the applicant, and a signature may be required upon delivery.
Qualified applicants may avail themselves of vouchers for 30 to 90 days of product from participating providers, depending on their specific needs.
Qualified Hospice and End-Stage patients automatically qualify for a 90-day supply of product.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application as specified by regulations governing cannabis and hemp products.
Applicants must currently be receiving active treatment for a qualifying condition or they must be living with a terminal illness.
The applicant's current annual household income should be at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL) for the year 2023.
Applicants must submit a medical provider's letterhead statement confirming diagnosis of a qualifying chronic or terminal illness and ongoing treatment, dated within 18 months of applying. Other supporting documents may also be requested prior to approval.
Applicants must reside in the United States, Washington DC, or a U.S. Territory.
